What Is Worth Doing

Written By: Hope Jennings

While simplifying your life usually means eliminating activities, adding these ideas will save you time in the long run:

Make your bed every day. It requires no decision making, takes about 30 seconds, and goes a long way toward keeping the bedroom serene.

Keep a personal planner. Having all your to-do's and appointments in one place eliminates frantic searches for that one particular sticky note.

Balance your checkbook. This monthly exercise helps you catch mistakes while still correctable. And keeping an eye on what comes in and what goes out prevents overdrafts.

Clean out paper files. File cabinets need weeding, just like gardens. Periodic pruning keep them from getting overgrown.

Rotate summer and winter clothes. It's easier to pull together a great outfit if your closet isn't overstuffed with inappropriate choices.

Label photos. Nothing fancy is required. Pay particular attention to identifying old pictures while mature generations are still available to help you. Without their help, the task is nearly impossible.

Follow the tutorial on new computer software. The shortcuts you'll learn will save you hours of time down the road.
